3 little quilts for 3 little babies who will pretty much be forced to be friends based on their mothers and sisters need to eat and chat.
They look and feel great, but I have never struggled with such fussy little quilts as these. They buckled and bunched and wouldn’t line up and made me question the much larger project I am hoping to start next. I am taking any suggestions on how to finish quilts. I’ve been binding according to the Heather Bailey instructions but I think I need something easier.
My mother eventually showed up and noticed that the foot of my sewing machine was missing a piece. How does that even happen?! I mean seriously, how did I piece 3 quilts with only part of a foot?
The important thing is, they are done and I love them and for my birthday the swear word inducing sewing machine is going in for a full tune up.
I loosely based them on a gorgeous quilt from Erica at Crafty Blossom that kept showing up in my pinterest feed. She has a charming etsy store full of gorgeous perfect tidy quilts that are worth checking out. Most of the organic cotton came from Sew Fine Fabrics and Fresh Stash. Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go have a baby to go with this quilt.
